First of all, since i just signed up and this is my first post, Hello FTB people :D

i have a problem with putting stuff into a ME chest via logistic pipes using a MK4 logistic chassis with a polymorphic sink module. i dont know if its related to the direction i attach the pipe to, or if its a problem about the ME chest itself. maybe someone can help me out? For directions: so far i used south, up and down, but that didnt deliver the demanded equal. Since its about items that come in masses from spoils bag, thought it could be an interference of other mod based item sinks, by priority. I tried putting a Terminus Module into those chassis, but that didnt solve the problem either.

My question is: is it generally possible, or do i just fail?

PS: I am currently using 2 ME chests as default routes, and these just work fine. should i try a configured item sink module?

It is entirely possible to so what you want, but you are going about it the wrong way. I believe the ME chest does not actually function as a normal inventory so you can pipe into/out of it. Instead of trying to use a pipe on the ME chest you should instead hook up the ME network to the Logistics pipe network so they function as one. The you can preformat a disc on the ME network with the items you want it to store and the logistic network will automatically send it there I believe(or send it there by default if there is no other available default inventory). Not tried it yet myself, but I believe hooking the networks up is done by placing 2 pipes(don't remember the names, but DW20 mentions it in the 3rd of his Logistic pipe spotlights) on an ME interface.

The problem is that i dont have a working ME system yet. ^^'
i know you can hook up a logistic network to an ME network via a chassis with item sink as a default route and provider module in a chassis on an ME interface.

thanks for the tip about preformatting, havent worked too much with ME yet.

Thank you for your quick answer, and from what to tell by now, it also works if you use a configured Item Sink module, at least for some items (since i only can configure 9 of these).

Well for a ME chest to actually work you do need a controller in the network and power for it. And then you could just have an ME interface and the ME chest in the network and then pipe all the items directly into the ME interface and they will automatically be placed in the ME chest.

it works also if you only place the chest, insert a drive and connect it to a power network on its own. it will provide the same functions all on its own, like a usual chest, just with the swappable drives.

It won't work with Polymorphic Item Sink (Logistics Pipes) or Sorting Pipes (Extra Utilities). You can't pipe things out of an ME Chest, only in. And the only way I know to make those ideas to work is to create an ME System and place a bunch of ME Interfaces, set on the export config 7 items, and leave one slot free. But that's just so ineffective.

You could, also use a large normal chest like a dimond one, and use a the ME cable thing (Can't remember the name right now so can someone help) that reads the contents of an invintory and supplies them to the network kinda like logistic pipes has.
