I have a friend that is trying to set up a FTB Infinity server. He used to run a server a while back with a lot of the usual plugins (pregenerated world, borders, protected claims, mcmmo). But he's saying that now he can't have plugins because bukkit and cauldron have both been abandoned. To quote him, "Also. just so everyone is aware there will most likely be no plugins this time around, due to bukkit being abandoned along with cauldron (only way to have plugins with mods)". Is this really the case? Because it seems hard to have a public server with no plugins of any kind.

While cauldron is unsupported and abandoned due to the bukkit debacle there are still some downloads up on third party sites. But figuring stuff out will not be easy as there is nearly no one left supporting. But anyways I guess the best way would be via the cauldron irc channel which still has quite some users.
