Hello all, I am new to the forums here and wanted to ask a question.

I just started playing Feed The Beast after a buddy of mine recommended it, and it is a lot of fun. Me and my friend started building a tree base we were going to load up with turrets and other things, so we were having a good laugh with it.

Anyway, back to the point. I have some free time during my school hours, and I figured I could spend that short time playing the mod a bit. However, here's my issue; my school rarely updates any of its programs/software, including free updates like Java. Now, I believe from an error I was getting was due to the fact that some of the computers in the school don't have the Java version needed to run it properly.

So now, let me get directly to what I'm trying to ask; is it possible to have FTB run on a different version of java installed on my flash drive? I believe maybe a batch file or something of the sort may be the solution (not sure), but I'm not too intelligent in that area to do that. Any help at all would be appreciated, thank you.

I'd say give this a shot: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic...-·-minecraft-on-your-usb-·-now-supports-macs/

But most likely, you won't be able to find a portal Java wrapper that'll work for the current version of MineCraft.

I believe you could also use MultiMC to do the same thing (but awesomer!), seeing as it installs to and runs MC from the folder that the program's in...

It does, but it uses Java to run the JAR file, which needs to be set up on the computer or set up in a portable fashion, I believe. I'd say, though, it is worth xCrusadentx's time trying, eh? Good thinking!
