PC Specks:
CPU: Mythlogic i7-3630QM CPU @2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
Ram: 16 in 8 and 8
GPU: Geforce, Nvidia 680m; Intel HD Graphics 4000 1.7~ GB
HDD: 600 GB SSD in 120 and 480
OS: Windows 7

Mod Pack: Direwolf20
Pack version: Most recent

Optifine: None
Graphics: Fancy
Render Distance: Normal
Performance: Max FPS
Advanced OpenGL: On
Chunk Loading: Default

FPS: 20-65
Minimum: 20
Average: 30

NOTE: I used to get over 100~ fps when I got my computer brand new just last Christmas, and now the frame rate has dropped substantially. Also, I can run BF3 on max settings and I cap it at 60 fps because I don't want my laptop to overheat. Also, I didn't get this with the intent of gaming, but it was nice that it was a gaming laptop.

computer specs

CPU: FX8350 8 physical [email protected]
GPU: Radeon HD 7770 1GB DDR5
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600
HDD: Seagate barricuda 7200RPM
OS: Arch Linux 64bit
Drivers: Catalyst (not radeon)

Modpack: FTB Ultimate: 20-40 FPS with basically any settings, even when I installed a HD texture pack.
Modpack: Tekkit Classic: same as FTB Ultimate
Modpack: Tekkit Lite: 70-220 FPS on max settings, original texture pack
Vinilla: 70-220 FPS on max settings

There is something in Tekkit Classic and FTB Ultimate that doesn't play nice with my system. I wish I knew what it was so I could fix/disable it
It should also be noated that the massive FPS drop does not effect my laptop (hp dv7), it gets 7-20 FPS on all of the listed modpacks. The radeon open source driver does not work very well with newer AMD GPUs, but it works pretty well with the older ones.

laptop specs:

CPU: Turion X2 64 bit 2.1ghz
RAM: 4gb DDR2 800
GPU: Radeon HD 3200m, which shares the RAM with the CPU
OS: Arch Linux 64bit
Drivers: radeon (not Catalyst)

computer specs

CPU: 3770K @ 3.5GHz
GPU: GTX 680 2GB DDR5
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600
HDD: Intel SSD 520 Series
OS: Windows 8 64-bit

Modpack: FTB Mindcrack: Running BDcraft 128 texture pack I get consistent 200-500 fps at start, ends up around 60-120 after a sizable base.
Modpack: FTB Ultimate: Same
Vanilla: 500 fps, no problem
Trying out some shaders with optifine, I can only get to 10-20 fps which is sad cause It looks so darn good. 4gb dedicated RAM, so it might do better with a bit less.. opinions?
