In this thread I would like to find out your PC specks, Mod Pack with additional mods or the removal of mods, if installed, optifine settings and your minimum Frames per second and average FPS (Or more like what it sits at most of the time).
Please set it out like this:

PC Specks:
CPU: Brand, name, speed
Ram: Size (ie 6gb in 4gbs and 2gbs), speed
GPU: Brand, name, size (ie 3gb in single card), speed
HDD: Speed, SSD or HDD
OS: Windows, linux, IOS and version number (Distro for linux as well)

Mod Pack:
Pack Name:
Pack version:
New mods: (That you've added)
Removed mods: (That you've removed)

Optifine:
Graphics:
Render Distance:
Performance:
Advanced OpenGL:
Chunk Loading:

FPS:
Minimum:
Average:

If you are running Windows and don't know your PC specks then go:
  1. Start
  2. Type "dxdiag" (DirectX Diagnostic)
  3. Press enter
  4. Except anything that comes up (Its all Microsoft)
  5. Look through the first 2 pages for the information (HDD's are not found here if you don't know what it is then don't worry)
I would like a spread from people with no problems to people with problems so then I can find a possible "Minimum Requirements" for most mod packs.
Thanks for any help, and PLEASE READ IT ALL.
For anyone wondering my specks are:

PC Specks:
CPU: Intel, i7-2630QM, 2.00 to 2.90GHz
Ram: 6GBs in 4Gb and 2GB, at 1333MHz
GPU: Nividia, GT 555m 3GBs, at 590MHz
HDD: 5400 RPM, HDD
OS: Windows 7

Mod Pack:
Pack Name: Mindcrack Feed the beast
Pack version: 7
New mods: Optifine
Removed mods: Extra biomes XL, omni tools, portal gun, traincraft, twilight forest

Optifine:
Graphics: fast
Render Distance: normal
Performance: Max FPS
Advanced OpenGL: Fancy
Chunk Loading: Smooth

FPS:
Minimum: 5
Average: 13

PC Specs
CPU: Intel Core2Duo E6750
Ram: 2GB some generic shite
HDD: 500GB WD (with a screwed up IDE\USB system due to a powersurge, it takes 45mins or so to transfer 5gb via USB, and if I have to use page memory forget it the comp crashes and dies)
OS: XP 32bit Java7 32bit

Pack: Nope no pack but I am running 68 mods, basically a combination of the DW20pack\Mindcrack pack with a few extra, Optifine yes

Settings
Java Ram: 512min 768max
Graphics: fancy
Render: Normal (I can run on far even though it is recommended that you use 64bit java for that, it is slow and does out of memory itself eventually)
Performance: Max FPS
Adv OpenGl: Default
Chunk Loading: Default

Avg FPS: 30 in my normal world, 50 in my test world with no golems\pipes\IC2 powernet

Thank you, you are proving one of my theories, that a lower end PC will run Minecraft better because of its lack of over priced Multi-core low GHz processes. Now its just time to find a way to fix that on my laptop :/

I am running on a AMD Phenom X6 1090T 3.2 GHZ (Overclocked to 3.7 GHz)
12 GB Corsair Vengence 1600 MHz memory
AMD Radeon 69XX (can't remember exact number)
Windows 8
120 GB Corsair SSD (W/~500 MB/s Read and write speed)
Modpack: A highly edited version of DW20 pack with a lot of stuff added
Optifine: Yes
GFX: Fancy
Render: Far+64
Performance: Max FPS
Advanced OpenGL: Fancy
Chunk Loading: Multi-Core
FPS ~ Around 100 but am in a very built up world with a texture pack so at times can drop down to 50-60

Your assertion about fancy PCs with multicore is probably correct and hence the Multi-Core chunk loading from Optifine would most likely fix that, however also try to distribute 4GB of memory to MC through the FTB launcher if you have not already at first my game had crippling lag then I set the memory usage to 8GB and it really helped.

I have a really good idea of what it is and its my CPU, I need to have a Faster one (Bought it at the wrong time very expensive for little power) so when I have the money I'm going to buy a new desktop PC with a 3rd gen i7 probs one of the high 2's to mid 3's and is 6 real cores none of the hyper/mutli threading

I use the DW20 pack, with a 64x texture pack, optifine standard, play on Fancy settings, every graphical enhancement turned on. Get between 15-40 fps. Do get random lag spikes. I think it's more sound related, as these spikes occur when it's raining, a lot of mobs around, or near lava. All are producing a lot of sound.

I just can't see why my fps is so low, it just looks like FTB isn't using my graphics card all that much.

Less FTB probably minecraft I doubt it can handle crossfire GFX cards very well and that means only using one of your cards, Open GL may kill your FPS if you dont have the correct drivers installed, the reason the nether probably gets better FPS is becuase you have nothing going on there no machines being automated or pipes or anything.

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 670 2 GB @ 1006MHz
HDD: HDD @ 7200 RPM

Keep in mind I use modpacks as a starting point so I have do do less tweaking myself because I am lazy.

Removed mods: Computercraft, miscperipherals, Railcraft, StevesCarts, Xycraft, ModularForceFieldSystem, ObsidiPlates

Current not used because of chunk errors, but normally...
Optifine:
Graphics: Fancy
Render Distance: Far or Far +32
Performance: Default
Advanced OpenGL: Fancy or Fast
Chunk Loading: Default

FPS:
Minimum: 25
Average: 45-60 in mechanized + millenaire world, 70+ before lots of machinery is built. It's very dependent on the amount of stuff going on.

At last check Minecraft uses next to no GPU unlike most AAA games :/[DOUBLEPOST=1359241928][/DOUBLEPOST]

Try and fined a update for the open source sound thingy Minecraft uses, I know Etho (Youtuber) was having some problems a bit back and he needed to update it. Its in one of his LP ep's at the start I think.[DOUBLEPOST=1359241979][/DOUBLEPOST]

ASUS G73 gaming laptop
Intel i7-2630QM @ 2.00GHz x 8 CPU cores
8GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M, 4GB memory
Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Running Mindcrack + Optifine
All settings corresponding to vanilla max details - fancy graphics, far render distance, etc. Multi-core chunk loading.
Only thing I have turned off is 3D item models, I don't like them. I don't think that has any performance effects.

Running at 40-60 FPS normally, when I run into a dense EBXL forest drops down noticeably to 20-30. Turning leaf graphics to fast puts that back to the usual 40-60.

Minecraft is really CPU-bound, as Notch can't code for GPUs and can't write multithreaded code. The biggest benefit of Optifine is properly using multiple cores in any modern machine. But if you have any sort of graphics card remotely suitable for gaming, you shouldn't have any GPU issues.

Tried that, and although I think I didn't get any major lag from sounds, it really screwed up keyboard + mouse interaction.

Click the mouse, keyboard presses are ignored. So mining or fighting on the move is impossible. Shift clicking on a barrel to get a few items results in shift being result, resulting in taking out a stack of items on the next click.
Plus random stuff at times, resulting in things being automatically moved to my hotbar.

Not sure which is the lesser of two evils :D

LWJGL 2.8.5 causes that, 2.8.4 works fine. You can get it at http://www.lwjgl.org/forum/index.php?topic=4608
