Summary of the problem Particles randomly stop displaying

What is the bug? When I start my client, particle effects (both vanilla and modded, such as Botania) work fine. At some indeterminate point during play (usually around 15 minutes or so), they simply stop showing, and the only way to get them back is to stop and restart the client. I've verified that my particles are set to "All" in the client, of course.
Mod & Version Unknown which mod is causing this.

Is it repeatable? No, I don't know what's triggering the problem.
