I'll see what i can do. Any ideas for a skyblock themed one? cuz thats the first world im currently working on, with just those normal mods like ex nihilo in combination with tconstruct. Also im kinda experimenting with mystcraft worlds so that the skyblock one has purple sky and moon and sun can eclipse. I guess thats what i was trying to do to make them look at least a little bit unique

Had a couple of thoughts:

With regards to gating progress, in a similar vein to what I mentioned about zinc and taking ideas from Blood N Bones, and as mentioned previously you could have a world with no food, and no plant life, where you must produce food artificially with MineChem - the way to arrange that would be to have all the MineChem stuff require a specific metal only findable in that world! Perhaps you could have it hubless as @lenscas mentioned - devastated and dead, so you have to wander to find things. You could even start in a dark manner by having you, on arrival in the world, having to use a mining drill belonging to a corpse at the gate until you find more stuff to use :)

Also, with regards to a Skyblock, it's hard to find things that haven't already been done, but I had a thought - inspired by the first novel in the Death Gate cycle: a series of tiered discs, one after another, representing society - the oppressed workers at the bottom, teaching you their Smeltery techniques, moving up through the echelons until you reach the (literally) upper class, who hold (and jealously guard) the secrets to magic. In order to open the dimesnional gate, you must bring the discs back into alignment, bringing equality to all the levels (as they're meant to be) and breaking the ruling classes tyranny!

It's a bit more role-play than most, but could be an interesting change :) this isn't meant to be me telling you what you should do, more to hopefully inspire ideas and thoughts!

Thank you for all your ideas, but with the skyblock map i have the problem that i don't want a player to get in depth with any other mod than ex nihilo and Tconstruct in that world. But will definetly add more metals that are only obtainable for specific dimensions. What i was also planning to do is to make the last world a world where you have to use all the mods together(except for mystcraft as i don't want the player to leave the dimension they are in)

That's quite alright, was just brainstorming really :D

Although, if you wanted to stick to just TiCon and Ex Nihilo, then forget the magic bit - maybe the Skyblock is, in fact, a giant machine in disguise - and you need to submit the appropriate metals/alloys/materials, parts/machines and so on as you go through the quests! Say, Igniters for starting the great boilers - where the Netherrack is hard to get? If you want to avoid the Nether for that world, there's bound to be some way to introduce the high level TiCon materials like Cobalt and Ardite so you can only get them near the end of the Skyblock.

Again, I'm hoping that I can provide some inspiration for the awesome possibilities available to you - I believe you can come up with more amazing ideas :D

EDIT: Don't be afraid to tell me if you think my ideas are really stupid - they probably are, and I definitely won't be offended!

They are not at all :). Also since the skyblock map is a mystcraft world, there can't be a nether portal in it. Disabling the nether or not is not a propability, but giving them access to these materials lateron is what i was planning to do. Any ideas for quests though, b/c after creating a good pick, i dont know what to tell the player to do next ;)

Ah I didn't know that! That simplifies things somewhat :)

As for quests... hmm. That rather depends on what you want to do with the story and progression! Obviously the key things for Ex Nihilo in Agrarian Skies were dirt and trees - the early quest path completely revolved around those two in some way or another! It's a tough one.

Perhaps the ultimate focus is around, say, stone. There are animals, plants and so on, but you lack basic stone - maybe you need a "rockworm", which (analogously to the silkworm) infects trees - but instead of turning the leaves into string, you turn the wood into stone. The most basic thing, but harder to get; or something along those lines? Or maybe seared stone for the Smeltery requires a more challenging route? Maybe even take advantage of the different stone types (andesite, granite, diorite and so on) so each occurs in a specific area, and the rare product of sieving one will allow you to make something to mine or enter the area of the next? Lots of possibilities, and some which can intertwine the mods.

what i was doing as of now was to call the first world the warmup and only have like 20 quests for it, then telling the player how amazing he is for completing 1/1000 of the map ;). But i will see what i can do

Ah, see I was forgetting this - I absolutely agree that's the right thing to do, start them off with a shorter and simpler intro world :) might be worth, if you want food to be something they need to remember, covering stuff like Pam's and maybe (if you put them in) Hunger Overhaul and/or Spice of Life, so they get into good habits with keeping food up early on! :)

I'll see :). Not a big fan of hunger overhaul though, but may consider to add it either way
