So I spawned into the world, set the mode to expert and went to go punch a tree, and this happened.

The Pine Log doesn't turn into any planks, I know that the recipe on normal wood is 2 planks for one log but, the pine logs doesn't have any.
I then set the mode back to normal and checked, the log gave me 4 planks.

As this is expert mode - I'm most certain that this is intended - if you check NEI you'll see that using the Thermal Expansion Sawmill you'll get Pine Wood Planks from Pine Wood

Isn't that just oredictionary wood in the sawmill? Whereas crafting recipes all need crafttweaker files.
And what am I supposed? Not use Biomes O Plenty?

Find any of the vanilla trees to get you started and then use a sawmill if you want other planks.
