Yeah, I've noticed IC2 is extra common, at least more than other ore gen.

That depends on the other possible mods in your pack. I believe Infinity and DW20 both have modified ore spawns due to a mod controlling world gen and ore dictionary. Also, most mods allow you to config if their ore spawns (maybe even rarity, depending upon the mod author's diligence).
