Mac optifine not working

I installed optifine to direwolf20s pack and It appears on the modlist on the menu but it will not work.

First, I downloaded the 1.4.7 version of optifine, launched the ftb client, opened direwolf20, clicked "open mod pack"
open folder, and then I added that version of optifine and it even shows up on the mod-list there. then when I go to launch the direwolf20's modpack, It does not show it in the in-game mod-list and optifines options are not there.

also, when I relaunch the ftb pack, it still says its in there, and no errors appear in the log, nor does the log mention anything of optifine.

make sure you are adding the .zip file to the JAR Mods tab when you select "Edit Mod Pack" otherwise it will not work, hope i helped

I forgot to mention that I did put the optifine zip into the jars mod tab, still the same exact problem.

Try updating optifine and forge to the latest version.
