Optifine help

can anyone help me install Optifine.

I'm playing infinity and I've downloaded OptiFine_1.7.10_HD_U_C1.jar.
I've added it to the mod folder, but when I fire up the game, Optifine is showing at all.

There are mods in Infinity, such as Tinker's Construct, that are not compatible with Optifine.

Are there any other mods that do a similar thing to improve performance?

There is already one installed, which is FastCraft 1.21

I use Optifine with Tinker's just fine. I use the standard version though.
