I am thinking about creating a mod pack that is centralized around it being in an adventure map. It wouldn't be like the ME maps, or like Agrarian Skies... I want to make something that is an actually adventure map, kind of like The Heist, a vanilla adventure map created by CubeHamster. (Not the same theme as The Heist, just the same "adventure feel", just to clarify.)It won't use TOO many command blocks. (maybe 2 or 3) I want to make it feel ACTUALLY like a adventure, and not have a straight path, if you know what I mean.
Share your thoughts, let me know what you think and what mods I should add/ what theme I should build it in. I MAY need help building it, if you are interested. I can set up a server on my main machine, but I still have to figure out how/how much ram to allocate to the server.
Any and all responses are appreciated! :)

I can't tell if you want to make a map, or an exploration modpack. I probably wouldn't play a map; a pack where you generate your own world would also make the "no straight path" requirement fairly easy. You could use something like Recurrent Complex to add custom dungeon generation, allowing you to still have a story and general direction, but have finding those areas be map dependent.

I guess you would want to look at mods with adventure, so various mods adding dungeons and such, like perhaps the Twilight Forest and Runic Dungeons (there are other people with more comprehensive lists; I'll tag them to bring them here if it comes up). You might also want some mods that allow you to craft and store stuff without actually needing to place items, to facilitate exploration without the need for a defined base.

Well, I will make a structure that will be defined as a "home base" and I WILL allow waypoint teleportation FYI. Also, by when you said "You might also want some mods that allow you to craft and store stuff without actually needing to place items, to facilitate exploration" do you mean like backpacks and stuff?... (A crafty turtle could be interesting...)

Yeah, stuff like backpacks for storage or iBench for mobile crafting/smelting.
You might want to get the backpacks mod which has whitelist functionality, so you can limit players to carrying around only stuff like ores and food. That way they won't just store buttloads of dirt and carry that around. :p
With Recurrent Complex, you *might* be able to get it to generate a single structure at spawn every time. I don't know, though; if you get started on this you might want to do some research and maybe make a post about that topic. :)

If I wasn't clear enough on my other posts: The map I want to make will have a home base spawning area. You will spawn near an area to call home. I will have structures spawning every once in a while to spice up gameplay, and I will also have a somewhat linear path to completion, but it won't be completely straight forward. This is the part I think I will have the most trouble with and is mostly why I asked if anyone was willing to help out.
If anyone does end up wanting to help out, no, I don't have a server from a hosting service. That is a downside. I can not buy one right now, because it is not set in stone that someone will help. If someone does decide to help, I also can't promise I CAN buy a server, so we will have to stick with a server that is locally hosted on my machine.

Random World with a specific structure?
That will cause weird glitches in Most cases i assume but you could for example define a pre generated mystcraft age with a Portal to the overworld as spawn with your Building There
Or install ExU and make the last Millennium the spawn

No, using Recurrent Complex. It allows you to create dungeons which will generate in the world; I think that you *might* be able to make it so that one is always generated at spawn.

You don't understand...
Imagine generating a world. Then you drop a building on the spawnpoint in the world. The world is random.
Now, generate a NEW world, with a different seed. Drop the same building on the spawnpoint. The world is still random, but the same building shows up on the spawn in both worlds.
