OpenPeripherals lost functionality?

Back in 1.5 I built a pretty extensive ComputerCraft system to monitor the status of my Railcraft boilers, using OpenPeripherals to connect to the boilers. I thought I'd make it again in 1.6, on a Direwolf20 1.0.12 server, until I discovered... you can no longer call getTemperature. That seems like it would be a thing you would want to do, so I can't imagine why they removed it. I can't find any documentation whatsoever on their website, no news entries, no changelogs, not even a readme! Does anyone know what's going on with this mod, and whether they might add this back?

Depending on your version of open peripherals, it actually has a built-in documentation program
