Hi,

I've made a support ticket but as far as I'm aware they are not public so I wanted to post it here too incase someone else had a similar issue.

We've been playing FTB in a group of 3 for a long time now, we just renewed our server and did a full re-install and new world. Upon joining everything is fine for 2 of us, the 3rd player freezes (game locks up, has to end process) almost instantly. On the odd occasion he is able to play for 10-30 seconds.

We have tried literally everything. He has updated Java, removed/updated Optifine, removed/updated texture pack, reinstalled FTB. We have also tried 2 new worlds. The biggest confusion here is that 2 of us are fine, the 3rd is not. However the 3rd is able to join another FTB server with exactly the same settings and version and has never frozen there.

The only 'fix' he has found so far is allocating 4GB to his FTB however he still crashes 20-30 minutes into the game. Why does this only happen to him, and only on our server no others? I'm literally going out of my mind because we've spent hours trying to fix it to little avail. The settings are all identical to our last server.

Thanks

Other info:
His system - Win7 64bit (with 64bit Java)
RAM - 8GB total

Our server - FTB Ultimate 1.1.2

If you could, please get a crash log from that player. Otherwise, I can't do nothing.
It may be with the server, or with the player.
Also, how many GB ram is on the server?

Server has 1GB, we have been playing on this server absolutely flawlessly for 6 months. We just began playing again and everything is absolutely fine except for this ONE player.

We cannot get a crash log, his game freezes and he has to end it via task manager so there is no console log. We have done everything possible to confirm it is his client and not the server. I think it may be some kind of memory leak but i'm not certain.

Lastly, we have followed all the troubleshooting guides and it is working fine on other servers for him.

Hrmm, sounds like he's getting out of memory errors... but why? There should be some way to get a log. Ask him to look through <ftb installation folder>\Ultimate\minecraft and find
files such as forgemodloaderclient.log. That's where the most recent logs are stored.

I'll try to get a log.

Just some more info, the crashes seem to chain. For example he could play 1 hour with no crash, then once he has a crash he will instantly crash again when he joins and this doesn't stop for quite some time. Eventually he might get back on but not for more than 20-30 minutes.

Very strange, never heard anything of the kind before. I shall wait for that veryimportantlog to arrive at my ruthless fingertips.

I've been having almost this same problem. It's very confusing. Infrequently after 20-30 mins. It's not really a crash, but more like Minecraft slows down to about 1 frame every 10-15 seconds. CPU isn't maxed out and neither is memory. Usually I end up using task manager to kill the java process. The log shows absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happening. Sometimes it manages to recover if I leave it alone for a few minutes - but when it does, it usually happens again less than a few minutes later. Sometimes if I hit escape, after about 30 seconds the menu will appear and if I click disconnect I'm thrown instantly back to the main menu running at full speed.
