I still dislike the new sounds that have been implemented in the 1.8beta update because they feel too realistic, plain, and even a little rough with the door sound. I would like to ask if there is any way to revert back to the old sounds in the Feed the Beast on version 1.4.7, thank you.

It accounts a lot for the atmosphere than you might think. Its hard to notice, because you just hear it behind your sub-conscience.
Actually, more often than not, it gets drowned out by whatever music I'm listening to through my headphones.

You can search around a bit and find where people have put zips up of the original sounds. I believe I've also seen resource packs that can do this. First glance shows this Youtube video with a link in the description to download a zip of the alpha version's sounds. You could copy them into your FTB instance's resources folder and that should probably work.

The only fallacy I see is that someone doesn't like the fact that not everyone likes to play games the way you do.

I see you using that word boldly, I question whether or not you know what it means.

Your opinion in this matter is invalid because you don't even listen to any of Minecraft's songs or sounds.

How would someone with no subjective experience with the games music or sounds be able to constructively contribute to a thread that asks if one can use a different set of sounds or in the poll that asks which set of sounds are better? You can't, because you've never experienced it.

You'll also notice that your poll has 4 votes. My original comment still stands.

And I used to play with the sounds and the music and everything. Then after the hundredth time of hearing the same song, I decided enough was enough for the music. I mean, I love C418 and everything, but I need more diversity in my music than what Minecraft provides. And I still can hear the sounds; I still need to hear that zombie approaching or that "oh shit" moment as a creeper explodes, but I don't need it being the only thing I hear. So if I can identify the activities in the world around me, that's all that matters.

And my last reply was more of a "oh yeah? yer mum!" comment than anything else.

FTB Ult: 1.4.7 has a resource folder? I looked around and never found it. Can you give me an example directory?
