this is the second time and these guys have spawned in front of my house. get too close and they start throwing glass bottles of poison at me. also get a huge angry zombie as well.

Just witches actually, I think. It's a vanilla mob. But they usually only spawn in a very, VERY specific area. Lighting the place up will help.
Giant zombies are from Thaumcraft. They usually appear when there's high flux in your area. If you didn't play with TC yet, then you're probably also close to a barrow hill.
All in all, you might want to move.

ah crap. i was hoping by leveling and filling in the hill with dirt and would kill all the spawning from it /facepalm

This, they drop some very valuable loot. Make a t5 shard, set all the redsone to centrifuge and watch as your supply of chrome nears fusion levels very quick.

Thanks man. Its still a work in progress but here's a screenie of the front and back. Still pretty bare since i havent done any decorating yet. Unfortunetly I cant take full credit for this.
