Ok, so I recently started an FTB server and with the release of the mindcrack mod pack, I decided to restart the map and so I was thinking. What do YOU think are the overall goals of FTB? I know how to make basic things like solar panels and quarries, but as far as using any of the more advanced stuff in the mod pack I know none

Well here's a list of what I think is a goal
~ defeating the Ender dragon ( true its a vanilla thing but it's useful
~ making an enderfarm ( to make iron)
~ nuclear reactor
~ a frame quarry
~ finishing all of the thaumcraft research
~ massive amounts of oil/ fuel
~ use redpower computers to automate stuff
~ make a awesome Steve's cart
~ make force feilds
~ make a lot of factories
I have more but they are short and easy goals, or they are not important. Hope this helps.

I know that in tekkit, the end goal was always High Voltage Solars.. for me now, playing on my friends server... I'm about 20 hours playtime and haven't even made a batbox... there is SO MUCH more to do! I want to make a frame quarry, that's pretty high on the agenda.
The goal in FTB? Well, I would like to be able to pull a lever and be showered with diamonds. I don't know if it's a feasable goal, but it's a goal...
definitely possible, and even easy:
- 7 Stone, 1 glass pane, 1 chest, 7 iron, 2 sticks and 3 diamonds to get a mining turtle.
- Make your turtle "excavate" huge areas starting at Y 16.
- Make some more turtles from the loot and repeat the above step.
- make some dispensers and load them with all the diamonds you found, hook it to a redpower clock that you deactivate with the lever.
(De)activate the lever, and meet your diamonds.
See, easy^^

Fusion Reactor, I have played about 1.5 days on one of my worlds and I'm still nowhere near being able to make one.
My goal is usually to make myself obsolete in my world; automate all the things!
Currently I'm trying to make myself so obsolete I don't even have to move from a primary computer control area. Automated mining, crafty turtles, and a turtle butler. Perhaps some wireless redstone or a mobile REther turtle so I can obsolete on the move.

There is really only one intended goal of FTB, and that is completion of the map. (The next version of it is now under construction.). The wonderful thing about FTB being a collection of mods built on top if Minecraft is that you can persue any goal that seems worthy to you.
For myself, I have plans for a massive processing/sorting/auto crafting system for my server. Some automatic iridium production is desired, mainly so I can give everyone on my server gravity suits to aid in large scale building. Differing quarry set ups are also being considered.
