As i promised i want to bring to your attention that original mod-author Shedar of Nuclear Control addon for IndustrialCraft2 will no longer develop this mod and he is quitting MC/modding in general.

Mr. StragaSevera pm him about possible update for 1.7 and get this answer:

Here is shedar respond in eng:

"Good time of day.
Yes, I didn't visited forum for a long time...
I abandoned Minecraft and NC developement since winter. I even don't know which versions are actual now. I don't plan to get back - I don't have enough time, and Minecraft is a great timesucker =)"

First of BIG thanks to shedar for all work he done and time he spent to bring us such amazing mod and lets wish him luck in RL.

We all do love to play with IC2 and NC was huge addition to this master-mod. So if there is any1 willing to takeover this mod and save the day i will be very thankful.

now if only this could become a mod that's compatible with more mods then just mainly IC2
I've been really wanting to use this mod, but I don't really want to install IC2
Nuclear Control (bony edition) will explicitly require IC2. I'm not quite sure how it could exist without it, stuff like the reactant dynamo from TE doesn't explode.

I don't know about you, but I barely used it for that. I mainly used it as a fancy way of showing text
I guess that's fair. There's computercraft, but you have to program for that.

Still going to require IC2 though :p

About alarms, I'm going to try to nerf those so they can't be used for trolling, with some type of jammer or something. If you've ever had one of those hidden under your base (thank god that hasn't happened to me) you'd understand for sure :p

Awesome great news! Probably one of my favourite mods(not that I have actually ever made a IC2 Reactor yet :p).

I don't mind the IC2 dependency. The mod is in itself great for just controlling different IC2 systems, but I do wish we could get some cross mod compatibility back. Being able to read energy values on TE energy cells etc. was just awesome and really made the glorious Range Trigger shine! (and was a super easy way of just displaying energy levels in a super neat wireless way).

Maybe evolve the mod slightly to not just be about IC2 reactors any more but be about adding ways to do clever automations and control of all kinds of energy systems, fluids and so on.

perhaps some Big Reactors compatibility?

Personally, the only thing about it that I care about are the information panels which are totally different than computercraft's before anyone tells me to just use those. They are so good, they are literally the only reason I still have IC2 installed. All of this stress on my game just for that. I havent tried the alarms but that sounds cool too. How about making the panels and alarms a stand alone mod?

Nah. The IC2 addon will stay an addon. I like IC2, and I want to keep it alive.

Big reactors compatibility sounds like a lot of work. I'm not even sure if I can port the dang mod, adding more to it is going to be tough :p

Not sure how or why you would want to do that? If you allow NC to read TE Energy cells or EnderIO storage banks then you can just feed the power from the reactors into those and then use the reading from those to toggle the reactor. You can already to that with the EnderIO storage banks with their Storage monitor(VERY similar to a Range Trigger). This is what I plan to do in my present build in order to trigger my reactors and other power sources in the proper order depending on power usage. But would honestly much prefer to use the Range Trigger over the EnderIO Storage Monitor(somewhat limited in use). So EnderIO support would also be awesome!

You could try this CC script for direct control of the reactor/turbines themselves:

Yeah but even Nuclear Control for IC2 reactors is not designed to read energy levels of reactors, but energy storage devices such as the MFSU and then toggle the reactors depending on that.

Ofc you can read temperatures directly from the reactor and then toggle the reactor on and off depending on that, but there is not really any equivalence to that in Big Reactor. You can just dial in the reactor to the right temperature interval by the fuel rods and then toggle it on and off whenever you need power without worrying about it exploding.

I don't think there is a need to give such negative sounding comments.

After all Nuclear Control is built completely upon reading different values about IC2 systems, but has also offered a few other cross mod functionalities. What you are asking for is basically a complete rewrite and change of direction of the mod just so you can use a small subsection of the mod.

We all know by now that a lot of you don't like IC2, but there is really nothing gained by posting your dislike of IC2 here, so lets leave the rest of the thread for constructive criticism for the Nuclear Control mod.
