Hey there :)

I am sadly not the owner of a very good computer, and such, my last world (Dw20 1.14) just got too much in the end. Too many ticking entities, and my Fps went below playable (for me atleast)
I went the way I normally go, tech tech tech, and then some automation, but it also got boring too me.

Now im trying a different approach, both to reduce the lag, and to do something new, to renew my interest.
I am starting off with a 3x3 chunk hole to bedrock dug by hand (suggested in another thread here on the forums) since i really suck at bases, and the old 9x9 cobble annoyed me.

Do you have any good idea's of projects that could keep my interest?
Automation is fine, but a full AE system, and other Massive solutions is kindof counted out (been there done that)

Edit: This is not a post for any amount of mod bashing, I really like things like AE, but my computer is not agreeing when it all adds up

If you can live without IC2, removing it and its add-ons (like compact solars) seems to have fixed most of my lag problems. Note that I also removed Factorization at the same time, so I can't swear it was IC2... Either way, removing those 3 mods did more for improving my game performance than anything else I've tried since the middle of the 1.5 modpack updates. With those mods installed, I needed haste just to feel like I was moving at a slow crawl, without them, I can move freely again!

AE is fine if you get into the configs and turn off cable animations. That will cause alot of lag client side. IC2 is a culprit along with anything that does lighting updates such as timers and such.

Try to go pretty heavy into te3 or any other rf mod. They are, for the most part, highly efficient

You can also encapsulate stuff you build that ticks a lot with creative sources. What I mean by this is take your tree farm that produces X logs per second, and remove it for a creative strongbox that has a timer that will pull out that same X logs per second. If you have a power system that puts out X power and has a huge support system for the fuel, replace the whole thing with a creative energy cell that outputs the same power.

Really helps with dropping the tile entities, but you need access to creative of course.
