I kinda need some help here.

I was playing on the Project Ozone 2 pack and was making some Unstable Ingots. I had exploded twice and on my second death it came up with the message "This is your last life!"

However I knew I had 5 lives, not 3, and my quest book backs up this claim showing 3 more hearts. So I'm a little worried.

Which is correct? If the last life message is correct, then if I die my world is instantly gone forever and no amount of lives will change that.

Should I just ignore this and carry on? Or should I mess around with the config or whatever? I really don't want to risk weeks of work on such a small detail and would rather get some relable info from the community.

Spend the extra diamonds to make unstable nuggets, which should then craft into the stable unstable ingots, which don't explode. Or go into a creative test world and practice until you can reliably do it fast enough. Or do the ritual to get the improved division sigil.

Taken care of the ingots for now. The real threat is dying to something else. I have full Zivicio armor and an Enderium cleaver at this point (I can't help but feel enderium got severely nerfed) so there's not much threat there. I'm just worried about things like falling out of the world, glitching through floors accidentally, or something attacks me while i'm afk. Am I worried about nothing and can keep going and collecting lives will help? Or am I stuck on one life forever?

If it's your single player or server make a backup before you do anything

Okay, I've done some tests on other saves, and I've reached a consistent conclusion. If I die my world will indeed be deleted, and no amount of Full Hearts will change that. Is there anything else I can do to get some more respawns?

Try open to LAN, enable cheats, then t/gamemode s. That's what Google comes up with, anyway. Or resign yourself to starting over, you did choose to play a pack in hardcore mode, after all.

I figured it out!
There are two HQM mods in Project Ozone, the traditional HQM and Better Questing. You can't get more lives in Better Questing as far as I know but I found a command to turn it off:

/bq_admin hardcore

So sorry for wasting your time, but I hope that nobody else falls prey to this little sneaky trick, I only just noticed the last life message, and would have probably lost everything!
