I've not played FTB in a long time and I can't rotate the dynamos from thermal expansion using the omniwrench or any other wrench in the game.

Can someone tell me how to rotate these things? They are always facing up.

I have a Mining Well from Buildcraft next to it. I guess it needs a conduit inbetween to convert to RF to MJ?

Unless I am mistaken, the maker of TE has said that the conduits will convert RF to MJ when connected to items needing MJ. However the conversion is one way only. There is not a currently known method (one is not provided in TE) to conver MJ to RF. There may be a mod to do so by now but I do not personally know of one. The nice thing is that it allows us to use TE as a main power source for many of our builds and bases instead of having to setup a MJ source for buildcraft and forestry needs.

This^^

Except I find RF generation incredibly boring so I'll only ever have a few dynamos to run my machines and do the rest the fun BC way with boilers etc... RF is my greatest hate in modded MC for this reason, it was unnecessary and even worse it's boring

It's programmed to be boring and efficient, both from a player viewpoint and from a server architecture viewpoint.

Yes it may be a little boring now but I am sure in future updates of either TE or other mods we may get some more options in RF generation. It is a new power system the was just implemented and I know some mods already support it (MFR comes to mind). I am sure in the future we may see boilers and such. Personally I would like to see a mob treadmill for power gen (creeper on a treadmill, lmao). All we can do is wait and see. In the now however TE is at the least a good early to mid game ore processor and power gen.

I personally can't stand efficiency, you have to be efficient all damn day IRL... Screw efficiency for my escape mechanism;)[DOUBLEPOST=1388752023][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'm sure it will get better as well but for the moment it just doesn't float my boat;) Hahahahahaha a creeper treadmill will make my year, those cute little feet running till they fall off, f-ing hysterical!!!!

EnderIO conduits convert both ways.

I agree in theory.

In practice, my client starts lagging mid-game when I have a recent-sized MJ or EU power production and distribution network along with BC pipe item and BC liquid pipe network. I'll take boring and efficient RF production and distribution over lag anyday. It allows much larger and more complex builds.

In a perfect world, we'd have infinite client and server RAM, CPU, and GPU resources. In the real world, we have to deal with limits.

I play SSP on a mahussive PC capable of serious video editing and rendering so luckily isn't an issue for me unless I get into seriously extreme situations but I understand your point from back in the day when I had a piece of shyte laptop;)
