Where is him?
Fine, I'll indulge to a certain extent. You see, the way temporary bans work around here is this: Users accrue points for various rules infractions should they deserve them. These points are awarded to accounts when us moderators hand out warnings. If you've ever gotten a PM from one of us starting out, "You are being warned for..." then you have points on your account. They slowly disappear over time, so it's not like a permanent record. However, if you ever have five or more points at any point in time, that automatically triggers a seven day temporary ban.

This is what wound up happening with Lambert originally. The exact nature and cause of those warning points is between him and us, though, and I won't reveal what they were. Much like we do with any Well-Known member who receives a temp ban, we Global Moderators sighed, shook our heads, and moved on. However, Lambert chose to evade this temporary ban - despite the fact he knew it was temporary - and enjoy the forums regardless. Most people don't think it's a big deal, but it's the forum equivalent of sneaking out your bedroom window to go play while you're supposed to be grounded in your room. It's something that cannot be tolerated if any modicum of order is to be maintained, and our standard policy is to permanently ban anyone who violates a temporary ban.

Just as we can't allow people shirking their punishments, we can't make exceptions for Well-Known Members, either. It's a shame, but that is how the situation turned out.

All of that, though, is not to say we're heartless about punishments. I can understand frustration if you think you've gotten a ban you don't deserve. The best thing to do in that situation is to contact us moderators. Slowpoke, myself, and the other Global Moderators are all easily accessible via Twitter, and one of us is generally on the FTB teamspeak at all hours. A good deal of the regular moderators are as well. If you receive a temp ban, we'll be happy to talk to you about it, so long as you can do so professionally and respectfully.

I know that, I meant, to whizz, that message.
