No RedPower in Unleashed and Unhinged?

So I'm pretty ignorant in all that's going on, but I noticed that both unleashed and unhinged don't have RP. I know everyone has been saying that the modpacks aren't updating due to no RP update yet, but why do we need one? Doesn't RP work fine as it is? Or has the developer been promising an update and just hasn't?
Either way, why is it removed from the new standard modpacks that just got released?
I just find it annoying that they released Ultimate and said that it was the best pack, then just a few months later they stop updating it, and release packs that don't contain some of the good stuff. 1.4.7 mod versions do not work in 1.5.2

Last time people have heard from Elooram was in April I think. And nothing since then. You can't just wait 2 years to update a modpack just because of one mod.

Eloraam more or less just isnt here, the last thing we heard of her was a month ago.
So the ftb team didnt want to wait indefinitely, so they released packs without it.
It got removed from the standard modpacks because its not compatible.
Also eloraam didnt make her mod open source (Fair enough, she has reasons) so the mod wont be updated until/if she comes back.

It's not that she isn't there. It's just that she's busy, so updating is reeeeeaaaaallllllly slow. People decided to wait for her for the 1.4.7 update (or was it before that?) and it took at least 2 or 3 months.

Also, there's over 9000 posts about the subject already on the forums. It's better to search first.

Can some one give a definate or likely answer..is there a rp2 that will work for these modpacks? On the other hand i have noticed a great improvement in frames per second uptp 30 when my cpu averaged on 18 before. PLease FTB BRAINS UP IN THE LAB PUT REDPOWER2 IN THE DISABLED MODS OR IN THE GAME WHY TAKE OUT YOUR BEST! YES THE BEST MOD..NO TIMES.NO wires the game is pretty well unplayable by many users.i have quit ftb for the time being...maybe all you people who harass the admins/scriptwriters for updates ahs caused this!!!

Here's something you may not know about mods:

Every time Minecraft updates, mods break. Mods for 1.4.7 do not work for 1.5.2.

There is no way around this. There is no magic "FIXITFIXITFIXIT" wand you can wave at it. Mod authors must manually go in and recompile their mod and fix all the errors to get their mod to be compatible with the new version. The bigger your mod is, the more errors there are to fix.

Redpower 2 is a MASSIVE mod.

There is no magical super secret 1.5.2 compatible version of Redpower that FTB is keeping in their secret vault next to the fancy champagne and gold bars.

Redpower 2 just does not and will not work with Minecraft 1.5.2.

No amount of bitching and whining at the FTB staff will change this. The only person who can fix this is Eloraam herself.

Since it seems everyone is only answering the OP first question, I figured I'll answer the second. You need to change the GT IDs, because they conflict with some other mod.

Now, for my 2 cents on the people whining about no RP2 in Unleashed/Unhinged.

They can't put it in. It is only compatible with 1.4 and below, while the new packs are for 1.5.

You can still play 1.4 packs with Redpower. She is busy, people wanting an update didn't cause her to be busy in her personal life.There are replacement mods (mostly made by immibis) for 1.5.Immibis anything
