They will not support them forever, but the 1.5.2 crowd is still decent.

They can easily measure the usage those services get so they can stop supporting them when traffic is minimal.

One of the touted features of their new launcher was support for older versions of Minecraft. With that fact in mind, I think your relatively new version will be ok for a long time to come
