I'm looking for information on the FtB launcher. To clarify: I'm not interested in using the FtB mod pack. I don't want to have a big automation system setup that basically plays the game for me.
I am, however, tired of trying to manually update users who can't manage mods, and I understand that FtB's launcher can automatically update the mod pack.
So: Where do I start? Where's the docs on the launcher? How do I ... I don't really know what to ask, actually .
On my system, I'm looking to replace some shell scripts that deal with managing different configs and mod versions as I switch between "live" and "testing" servers, or that pass lots of arguments to Java to control the JVM. And, most GUI launchers only want to give a small 30-40 character line for arguments, and assume that "-Xmx" is the only memory flag you need. I'm doing a lot more than that.
What can be done with the FtB launcher?
