So as you might have seen we got a new website, I know of a few bugs in it:
Staff page is broke
Server downloads page is broke *fixed* (Use the launcher to download server versions)
mudpack server download button is broken

If you know of any other issues or have any feedback then let me know!

This page looks a little funny: http://www.feed-the-beast.com/mods
Rather unclear about what those boxes are and how they're to be used. The one above seems to have a different function to the one below, perhaps it searches the mod name, not author? This is how it appears to me:
4b7ob.png
Google Chrome (Version 29.0.1547.57 m, which is the most recent), Windows 7.

I'm aware, I'll fix it when I can, hopefully there will only be one box if I can get it right

Hi, some things i noticed while surfing the new site:
  • Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
Both links don't have a target. So why not just remove them until there is content?
  • About (http://www.feed-the-beast.com/about)
The pictures part is still missing those and the "Latest News" widget is only visible on this page and is gone on the pages reachable from there.
  • Abut => Creators (http://www.feed-the-beast.com/creators)
I was expecting more information about the FTB team and not some kind of Fan-Site guide. It might be hard to find a better name but i was somewhat surprised.
  • Repo Status (http://www.feed-the-beast.com/repo-status)
Looks nice so far! But adding some units to the bars would improve make them more significant. Right now i only can guess it's a percentage?
  • Servers (http://www.feed-the-beast.com/servers)
The news (also available here http://www.feed-the-beast.com/servers/news) still seem to have some placeholder text. Maybe having it sound more neutral would be better?
  • Server FAQ (http://www.feed-the-beast.com/server-faq)
The FAQ states that there are DL links on the site as well. So why not point a link there? Maybe there is a server download page i haven't noticed yet?
  • Mods (http://www.feed-the-beast.com/mod-packs)
I guess this part isn't up to it yet because it's so much work. But basically there is information missing for every pack except Unleashed and the DL links are still broken. Oh and the current version for Unleashed is 1.1.3.
  • News (http://www.feed-the-beast.com/news)
I don't know if it's needed for displaying the news in the launcher but having the words (title, body, link) in the text looks rather arbitrary.
Over all i really like the new site. It just needs some more work around some parts. I really like the idea of having separate parts with different backgrounds and it's a lot cleaner!

So I noticed Jaded cats url here:
http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/suggest-mods-for-creation-here.22821/
http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/suggest-mods-for-creation-here.22821/
^in more than on subcategory

In other words, I notice you have a small thread redundancy issue. It would be nice if the forums had a feature similar to PSU's ability whenever you create a new thread to auto-search similar threads. Its actually why the PSU is more popular than the actual official Sony forums for the Planetside 2 game. (This would be like equivalent of FTB forum members eclipsing the number of minecraft forums members, yet having fewer number threads than mine-craft forums. So yeah, its kind of a big deal in terms of forum innovation.)
Also I do realize this is probably a core component to search that the XenForo Ltd would have to enable or program in; however, I think its something important to add in the longer term if FTB forums and FTB wiki are going to be websites used even 2-3 years from now.

You are aware that you copy pasted the exact same link in the exact same area there... This is also a thread about the website new website, not the forums :)

I couldn't find a double post anywhere. Please start a conversation with me about this. As Captainnana said, This thread is for the Website not the forums.

It's me again. o_O

I just wanted to mention that the website doesn't have a link for the wiki. So users have to get to the forums in order to continue to the wiki. I don't know if it's intentional?

Another note: The wiki has (IMO) a rather nice page about the community communication options (Community Article) the website also has a section for this (Community page on the website). If you compare both sites you'll notice that the wiki article has separate headings for every major communication platform/path, in comparison the community page on the website only lists the forum and chat as links in the text. It's rather easy to miss as the contrast of orange on white isn't all that noticeable. Maybe it would be a good idea to also have a separate section for the chat information or alternatively also turn the Teamspeak information into a link (maybe in addition to having it as a section).

Where should i put feedback regarding the wiki?

The colours red/grey/black & white do not make it easy to read, & its ugly as sin, just mho.

Looks like it was made by a preteen girl.

Wiki link on the main site is at the bottom, although moving it to the top would be quite nice ;).

Just created a thread for wiki feedback: http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/34154/.

About the site:
I'd love to see some
HTML:
placeholder=""
on the "mods" site:
5CU87.jpg

I think this would help some people to get those boxes right.
