So since the 1.1.0 update the mixed metal ingot recipe has changed to require metal plates instead of ingots would anyone happen to know what mod is causing this change
Thanks for any help

GregTech adds the Plate Bending Machine and modifies the mixed metal ingot recipe.

Downside: you need the machien first.

Upside: you don't need a Railcraft rolling machine plus a MJ producing machine anymore. Also, you'll need a lot less metal for the same amount of advanced alloy now - somewhere between half as much and a third as much, depending on the recipe.

Since you want a plate bending machine anyway (it makes several other recipes cheaper too, and many higher tier recipes require plates specifically), I'd say this is an overall buff.

No way to change it either just make the plate bender its not really that hard.. Just make sure you keep it at 32 EU power... Or it will blow your house half up.. Like it did to mine.. Still fuming about that one. LOL

Considering all other IC2 machines have been the same since the dawn of time... and the machine explicitly states in its tooltip how much EU/p it takes... hard to blame Greg for that one :p

Well when you're feeding it what it wants and it still tells you it's insufficient and you're tired and it's late and you really can't even remember what that industrial blast furnace was trying to cook anyway and you think to yourself, "Fine, you want more power?! HERE!" and connect it directly to the MFSU... Okay I can't blame Greg for that one, but it did give me lots of time to learn more about how the power systems work as I painstakingly rebuilt half my base. The flaming array of thermal generators was kinda funny too. There's lava in it, yet it burns in the rain. WHY. :D

Yes and no.

The most valuable resource in minecraft you've got is time. The plate bending machine ain't that slow and you can always build more or stock up, but it's an extra headache I'd rather avoid.

So you'd rather build a rolling machine and a stirling engine instead? Or two magmatic engines in order to drive it at full speed, which is about the same as the plate bending machine?

I mean okay, everyone's mileage may vary, but I'm not seeing where the act of putting together the plate bending machine costs you so much more time than building a machine and one or more engines. o_O

just remember now almost all gretech machines can now be upgraded with transformer/overclocker by rightclicking with the upgrade so now you can make almost any machine take any voltage from LV to EV also iirc the upgrades cannot be removed once installed

He means that it's not Greg's fault that the machine exploded.

It's not hard to feed a machine the correct amount of electricity. In most stages of the game, you only have to deal with ultra low, low, medium, and high voltage.

Remembering which one goes where isn't very hard. If you're not sure which machines accept what, you can either go to the wiki, or you can test it in creative.

Yeah I did the same thing when I confused a chemical reactor for an industrial electrolyzer... To my dumb eyes they looked the same for a second and that's all the tool to blow a chunk out of my factory...

TBH i was kinda happy about this change... because i dont like using BC if i dont have to... even tho i start off early with it? i switch over to rotory macerator and suchforth ASAP. So when i saw i could use the platebending machine instead of the rolling machine i was kinda happy... even tho the rolling machine is retarded easy to make... but then i was moving on to make an alloy furnace because Power Suits mod uses a lot of electrum now and i still had to make one of thos copper circle thigns... ... which still uses a fucking rolling machine -_-...

Ugh lolol oh well.

You used to be able to change the config to set MMI back to the IC2 recipe - just craft refined iron, bronze, and tin together in a normal crafting grid. This update has removed the ability to do that - if GregTech's installed, you HAVE to use the plate bending machine.
