We are currently looking for a new host for our well established community. Our current situation is, running around 14 players on a large map with 1.5Gb Ram which is now not enough.

What we are looking for: around 4Gb Ram
14 player slots
cost around £20/£25 p/m
FTP access
would also like IP of one of your servers so i can test ping times (current server is hosted in france)

TY for any suggestions or cooperation with this.

Are you experienced with Linux in any form? If so, renting a dedicated box and using Ubuntu Server could be exactly what you need. You would have full control of the box, and with your budget 4 gigs of memory should be achievable. For example: https://www.ovh.co.uk/

One of the benefits is you don't share processor performance with other people and your not charged by player slot, you can have as many slots as you want.

If you can handle something in Dallas, I have a VPS server that is under minimal load ~10% peak that I could allow you to rent out. You can ping the node at 162.213.193.131

Server Specs:

Dual Xeon l5520 Processors @ 2.26 Ghz
24GB Ram
2TB Drive
1Gbps Port
Located in Dallas with a mixed service provider

We can manage it for you for an extra 5GBP a month.

The Specs that you would receive are:

Tier Five Managed 4096 MB

  • Guaranteed RAM: 4096 MB
  • Disk Space: 100 GB
  • Bandwidth: 1000GB
  • CPU Cores: 8
  • Virtualization: KVM
  • Port Speed: 1000 Mbps
  • IPv4 Addresses: 1
  • Management: Full Management and Priority Server Setup
Feel Free to contact me at [email protected]

Because OVH is larger company, so their support team will likely have more experience, and it would be cheaper. OVH doesn't do bulk discounts, so ChunkyHosting is basically reselling OVH hardware at higher prices.

Pretty much every minecraft hosting company does the same? Probably not OVH with everyone?

I know, but people should really be careful not to buy from resellers, they just rent lots of hardware and increase prices while reselling. Places like CreeperHost are good because they run data centers that they actually own.

However places like creeperhost also over sell their hardware and don't give accurate specs. Take it from someone who ran a dedicated server with them
