I have been getting this crash suddenly when trying to join a friends server and I don't know what it is. I have played on it before just fine and it worked well. Now I timeout all the time and sometimes it'll crash and sometimes it won't. Im running Windows 10 and Minecraft thinks I'm running 8.1. I can run single player just fine though.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem or what might be causing it?

Does this happen when the people join, or when a lot of people join, and then you do something (e.g. open a GUI).
I know this sort of crash is common when opening a GUI, or if there is a lot of redstone running.

As for the Windows thing, it's unlikely to be an issue. It may be that MC can't detect Win10 (as it wasn't released when 1.7.10 was)? Or maybe you recently updated/have an unverified copy of Windows? (I don't know, but it shouldn't affect gameplay)
