NetherPortal teleporting us across the map.

I recently purchased a server from Nitrogaming for myself and friends to play FTB-Mindcrack.
They have the option to install it automatically, quite common.

But here's the problem. We built a nether portal and rather than sending us to the nether it made another portal +200 away and teleported us there. We walked back through it and it then teleported us to +10k/+10K. Walked through it again and ended up at 300k+/300k+. Basically this continued till we hit +25mil/+25mil.
Once we hit +25mil/+25mil it just teleported us to the same spot.
We never left world.

I seriously suck at Minecraft modding so I have no idea where to start with this. Any help is appreciated.

Well, that's a new one on me. Sounds like something borked a config somewhere, so the Nether's disabled.

Does Nitrogaming have an online configuration page? If so, look for a setting to do with the Nether, and enable it. If not, get in touch with their customer support- it almost definitely sounds like an issue with their installation.
