Bug Nether Resets every time

I just went into the nether and made a cobblestone platform to start a gold farm and after I went back to the overworld to get supplies, I went through the nether portal to a blank nether. No cobblestone platform, just a clean void nether. I obviously can't do anything in the nether with this problem, is there any way to stop it from clearing?
