Early in my Ultimate singleplayer survival world, I made a Nether pumping station for power right after generators. One time I went to check it out, and half of my little stone brick hut was decimated. I couldn't even imagine what could have caused this, so I spawned everything back in and replaced it. Just a bit ago, I went to check it again and the same thing happened. My structure is a complete stone brick prism, with corners filled in so a ghast couldn't have caused this. All I have in my little home is a Linking Book to the Overworld, a World Anchor, a crafting table, and an Ender Tank. The pump itself is about 20 blocks away and it's fine, so the pump isn't the problem. What could cause an explosion intense enough to destroy a stone brick structure and a world anchor?

Yeah, sounds like a chunk reset. I've had the same thing happen to me once. Half of my lava pumping station had just vanished. I later found out it was because of the ender chest I was using to transport lava cans back to the overworld (note that this was before ender tanks and tesseracts), which apparently may sometimes cause a chunk to reset. I don't know if ender tanks have this issue as well, but I'd switch to a liquid tesseract if I were you just to be safe.

It doesn't look like a chunk was reset, it seems like an actual explosion occurred. Let me get a screenshot up

UPDATE: Ok, well looking at it again I guess it does look like a chunk reset. Is this a bug or what?

Yeah, and it's not uncommon I'm afraid.
I tend to use lots of ender chests, so I backup my world very frequently for this exact reason. (Among others I guess...)
