Details of the issue:

I bought a server from a local server company called Nitrous. They are based in the UK where I currently live. The server has 2gb of ram and is compatible and can run the CrackPack perfectly fine. Up until recently I've made a nether portal. The portal is lighting properly but when I try to go through it. It just makes the screen do the effect and that's it. No matter how long I sit there it still does it. I went into the world on single player to sort out the problem. See if it was a mod creating the problem. It worked fine. I generated the nether and re uploaded the world to the server to see it that would fix it. Still won't let me go through. It also isn't showing any errors in console. The server doesn't lag at all for myself or my friend that stays in Atlanta, Georgia US. Any ideas?​

in the server.properties file you can disable going to the nether. Maybe its disabled there?

That seems to have solved my problem! It shouldn't be disabled when its generated. For some reason it was. Thanks very much for your help. I feel slightly stupid haha.
