I looking to buy the parts to build a server to host FTB Infinity Evolved for my family and I need help in suggestion on what parts to purchase.

So far, I've priced the following:

CASE: ATX Cooler Master HAF XBEVO Black NOPS
CPU: Intel CORE i7 4790K 4.00G/8M/S1150
HDD: 2.5 SATA3 240GB Kingston SSD 7MM V Series V300 SV3
MOBO: S1150 ATX ASUS Z97-A Z97
Power Supply: 550W ATX Cooler Master Elite V2
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 1866MHz DDR 3 16GB Kit CL10 (2 kits)

Total price of the build is : $1,430.00

It's a little pricy, so if anyone has some suggestion on other build I can use to bring the price down, it would be appreciated.

Will this build play FTB Infinity Evolved with no lag? Currently, I'm using my laptop as a server and there's lots of lag.

Do you plan on playing on it, or do you just plan on hosting a server on it? It will host an Infinity Evolved server perfectly, though if you plan on actually playing the game on that computer, I'd recommend getting the following graphics card:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn970g1gaming4gd

It's a GTX 970 which will not only handle Minecraft perfectly, but most other games you throw at it at 1080p. Heck, it can even handle almost any shaderpack you throw at it! It will also be able to run the server at the same time with little to no degradation in performance on either the game or the server.
