Hello FTB fans alike !

Currently, my friends and I are playing on FTB Ultimate 1.0.1 from a home computer (Connected through Hamachi). We have at most 4 to 10 players connected at any time (whitelisted), but we play on a lot of restrictions due to our host's computer disk not writing properly. We had a lot of crashes due to chunks being generated (while exploring), hopping into different dimensions (we can't have more than 1 or rarely 2 players on in different dimensions which includes the Nether, the End & Twilight Forest), the server lag from chunk loaders and giant mob farms, and more recently an almost definite closing of the server when one of my friend attempted to dive into THE very first Mystcraft Age. (I had to edit his .dat file to set his position somewhere else. My host's computer couldn't handle creating a new dimension).

So, we'd like to host our server somewhere else on a dedicated server. Problem is... I don't know where to start looking ! There are many different websites, prices and options ! I don't know how much RAM I need, what kind of server specs I should look for, should I look into SSD, etc.

I'm looking for FTB support (obviously), minimum of 10 player slots, webhosting/teamspeak not required (we're all on skype anyways) and location in the US/Canada ideally. Something to get rid of our restricted FTB experience and be able to fully travel between dimensions without crashing the whole server repeatedly.

Note that we'll probably restrict Mystcraft to a few dedicated ages (mining, cave exploration, flatlands) up to 5 ages with one weekly wiped for pure exploration and discovery purposes and keep stressing to a minimum.

We're interested in mcpowerhosting.com, but I'd like some community advice before choosing a bundle.
Thanks ! (and please move the thread if it's not in the appropriate section)

TL: DR Any ftb ultimate server host services out there who can support mystcraft well for 10 players max ?

I've tried a few hosts, currently I am using a VPS server through NFOServers.com you should check em out, they're fast a reliable; also built for gaming. They also offer setup game servers if VPS isn't what you're looking for. I started with Game Servers and moved to VPS after I was comfortable with the file setup and such. PM me if you need more info.

Also Mystcraft is a resource whore, although 2Gb ram should be able to handle an age or two, anything more than that could cripple even the high end systems available, for 10 players I would start with 2gB

Hmm I see ! I'll start looking into those websites then. What kind of price range would be ideal to invest in ?

I would start maybe in the $20 range, you can always upgrade from there.

I always check out this website before buying hosting - www.url-store.com - My personal favourite is bluehost because they're the simplest and usually the cheapest for new hosting packages. Plus the customer service is actually GOOD.

Consider not actually using a host built for hosting Minecraft servers. They are often lacking in hardware muscle. Instead like at dedicated boxes or a VPS.

For example: https://www.ovh.co.uk/dedicated_servers/

They are a little pricy, but will make just about any other host look underpowered.

This package would be ideal for just about anyone: https://www.ovh.co.uk/dedicated_servers/sp_32g_ssd.xml Mainly due to the SSD's in Raid 0 and the powerful processor to support lots of mystcraft ages and exploration.

I would realy wanna make a my server (UltiWorld) dedicated its a non whitelist server for 15 players but it keeps jamming up and glitching all over the place. for now i wanna keep it to 15 players what do u recommend me, also do u get that server send home and install it there or is it managed from a webside with them internaly :D

iv got a budget of around 30 to 35 euro's for this.

Um, mind cleaning up your post? I can't understand what your trying to ask fully. OVH has servers for most budgets, but you want something with a decent processor, a large amount of memory, and maybe SSD's to vastly improve chunk loading speeds.

The server is a dedicated box hosted in a data center. You get full access to it, and its controlled through SSH. They do not provide technical support with software, they only help if you have a hardware issue or your server is rendered inoperable. This is the best option for those looking to get the most powerful server for their money. The downside is you need a decent technical understanding of how to run a server, someone who only knows how to use Creeperhost would be mindfucked by all the options, settings, and work needed to setup and maintain a dedicated box.

With a budget of 30 to 35 Euros you could easily afford the KS R-8G package, if your willing to increase budget to 40 euros you can get the KS R-16G, which is the exact same, but has double the memory.

well thing is my pc has a good proccesor a good SSD and a killer motherboard with 32 GB ram

But i keep having lag with only 4 plugins and no texture pack

I just wanna know how to clear this up im using optifine (witch runs fine atm) to increase my FPS and i tryed to download a lag clearing plug so i clear that as well.

But this is problematic since nolag has disapeared from bukkit.org.

so i might wanna do the online thing on hosting maybe that solves it.

I just wanna know what can i expect of hosting.
