So, after almost a year of not playing FTB (Mainly because I grew tired of all the drama on Gtech and how I found difficult to keep up with my potato-like computer, now a brand new cool still potato-like but better than previous potato-like computer.) I really want to get started on WHATEVER there is that is not the same old stuff.. I don't want to start Thermal Expansion like I did 5 or 6 times.. So if someone who knows what pack and what mods should I use and learn to get a brand new experience, please go ahead an tell me.. I'm more interested in the technical stuff, but magic is welcome too if there is a new or a reworked magic mod..

Thanks in advance people!

Infinity is a good KS pack with the big mods, if a semi-potato-like computer can handle it. Also keep an eye out for when Horizons2 comes out.

Any new or reworked mods in particular that can replace the overused ones?

Thaumcraft had some decently large changes. Not sure if you were around for that or not. RFTools can also replace Mystcraft, and it has a tech focus rather than magic.

Nope, I guess I'll check thaumcraft.. Just got killed by some crimsom knights.. Killed a few of them which dropped a book that gave me a warp thingy it seems.. But then a dude with fireballs and shit just made my day.. I will have to master the new ways of the thaumcraft. As for RFtools.. Will have to check it, thanks for the advice man.

If you're sick of traditional mods, there are many third-party packs that use newer, more unconventional mods. These packs will also be less intensive on your computer. Most of the mods in Infinity haven't changed to any large degree - as far as I can tell.

I was in your shoes in February. I hadn't played since 1.5. Applied Energistics underwent major changes if you haven't played since AE1. And I also found that extra utilities really opens the game up to different play styles. Also, big reactors is a significant mod to explore for RF generation.
