Im using about 74 Advanced Solar Panels and about 8 Hybrids as my power usage for all my machines and I have 4 MFSU's dedicated to my Matter Fabricator. I get 1 UUM about every 15-20 mins. Which is pretty good i think, but i dont get barely any energy at night. So Im trying to make a way to power the fab using lava as a backup so its going even more. I have a pump in the nether thats pumping lava into a Thermal Generator thats feeding power into an Energy Tesseract. So i want to put that energy Tesseract near the Matter Fab to feed it power but i dont know how to do that. Sorry I am such a noob

Energy Tesseracts only work with MJ, not EU, but you could use Liquid Tesseracts to transport the lava to your base then have the Thermal Generator in your base.

Very true I haven't thought of that. I've been messing with the Tesseracts though and they dont seem to work all the time. Theyre set to the same frequencies and ones on recieve and one is on send but they arent working

Do you understand that it only works with BuildCraft power, not IndustriallCraft 2? Also, there needs to be a valid place for whatever you are sending to go.

You might want to look into some sustainable solutions. If you really want to do lava, look into the sinister line of bees. Otherwise, the general go-to for sustainable energy is biomass. You can convert that into EU with a boiler and steam turbine. If you don't want to do biomass, there's always blaze spawners (recently received a nerf, though), wither spawners for coal, tree farms, etc.

you could convert to MJ then use that MJ on site to make EU via lava->Geotherm

For me I use the direwolf method for lava transportation but slightly different.

In the nether I have one geo generator with a bat box. That powers two electrical engines which powers a pump and a liquid transposer. I have two ender chests. One chest sends full lava cans to a liquid tranposer in the overworld and another ender chest sends the empty cans back to the nether transposer to be refilled. (ok so I have a total of four ender chests, two in the nether and two in the overworld.)

In the overworld I have the liquid transposer dump the lava into an iron tank. I use liquiducts to pipe the lava from the iron tank to as many geo gens and magmatic engines as I can make.

Also is is very important to have a chunk loader setup in the nether too and at your base.

EDIT:
For single player this is a great way to get cheap energy. On a server though it is not a good idea for a lot of reasons but the main one would be lag. This method works in the Mindcrack pack too, though I haven't gotten to the higher tier Greg Tech stuff yet.
