Need help with Agrarian skies!

I downloaded the map, and I spawn on a sort of island - I have seen people on youtube play on a 3x3x3 block of dirt with a tree. Is that around here somewhere?

If you mean on the super small map then it's the hard map,if not thenit's just that they made q costum map. If you cansend a vid it will help

Your talking about the home sweet home map. Check the list and you should see one called something else.

You are referring to the original skyblock map which you can play in vanilla MC. You are left to your own skills, some suggestions of things to build are in the thread. I believe this is the original -http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/maps/1473433-surv-skyblock

Agrarian skies is a modpack with a custom map that gets made when you create a world. It is available from the FTB launcher (which makes installing modpacks easy) It uses the hardcore questing mod to guide you through many of the mods that are in the pack- you are given a quest book which contains advice and helps you to survive. some knowledge of modded MC is expected.
The starting base of agrarian skies was changed during its development from a flat platform with a pond to a small house on a clay island with a little stream and a tree, this is what the previous posts are referring to.
