I know all about the multiplication/division by 8 rule for overworld to nether portals, but I still need help for it. I am making a Wither Skeli farm for their skulls, and the only ideal place to make the machine is 700 or so blocks away from the default nether base. To make things simple, how do I link portals to get from Nether location -93, 117, 671 to my Overworld base at -37, 51, 41? The Nether base portal everyone uses is at 37, 72, -2 in case that helps. Below is a part of the area I'm carving away at.

I think they can only go as far as 128 blocks into either dimension.

This. Plus there's no linking issues and random portals spawning in places you don't want them to. Only hard part is getting the crystals for it.
Nether location -93, 117, 671 = Overworld location -11, 117, 84
Overworld base at -37, 51, 41 = Nether location -296, 51, 328
I believe with that you could make the nether portal link to your portal in the overworld, but if you tried to go back through it again, it'd create a new portal in the nether.
That's also provided there's no nether portals anywhere closer to the first set of coordinates I gave you
