Hi guys, I'm currently hosting a FTB infinity server from my pc for a few friends. We all have fastcraft installed, and everyone is having a great time with the modpack. The only problem is on my end. I seem to be having frames in the ~30-40 area with the lowest graphic settings and it's getting rather annoying when my friends are getting 90+ frames on the highest settings.

My initial reaction was to install Optifine, but the current version we're using is running MC 1.7.10 and Optifine's installer for 1.7.10 just instantly installs it to MC, without giving me any options on where to install it. Is there any way to install it to modpacks that use other launchers and instances such as FTB? or did they make it this way to stop the flow of people who reported modpack crash logs?

Yeah, Optifine tends to break mods and usually only optimizes vanilla rendering (which is often modified to the point where Optifine doesn't know what to do with it). In my experience at best it only nets you 1-2 extra frames, and at worst it totally messes up the rendering of blocks.

What you need to do is find a forge compatible jar version, or see if the installer has a way of installing to your modded MC instance.

Either way Optifine doesn't really help much, then again it depends on the mod and whether they tinker with vanilla rendering code.

You just have to put it in the mods folder. And I think most of the framerate boosts people get from Optifine is due to being able to lower the graphic settings beyond what you normally could.
