Hi everyone!!

I want to install MCHeli on the TPPI modpack but I simply can't get it right. The MCHeli mod must be installed by extracting the .ZIP folder and put it in the mods folder (as directed by the mod dev) and so I did. But when I entered the modpack and the game was loading, this error came up:

Forge Mod Loader has found a problem with your minecraft installation.
You have mod sources that are duplicated within your system

Mod ID : File name

mcheli : mcheli
mcheli : minecraft

Of course I know what they are telling me, I have duplicated mods or I have installed the same mod twice.
I'm 120% sure I did not install the mod twice, infact, I deleted the whole modpack and re-downloaded it and put the mcheli folder in ONCE and the same error pops up. I need help quick because MCHeli is one of my favourite mods and the TPPI modpack is a very fun modpack!

Thanks everyone!

BTW: (The mcheli mod is in a normal folder and not a .ZIP because it has to be installed like that, according to the mod dev.)

I don't think the .zip file should be extracted. Have you tried putting it into the mods folder without extracting?

Yes then the game crashes if I use .ZIP folder. It must be extracted because the mod developer instructed it to be extracted.

You have 2 instances of MCHeli in your game?

Also I believe this:
Extract the .zip file and put the folder into mods folder in your minecraft directory.
means that you needs to just open the zip, and whatever is there, when you first open it, you put directly into your mods folder. However, I don't know why a mod would ever do that, as minecraft cannot read folders, it needs a zip or a jar...

I am 120% sure i don't have 2 McHeli mods in the folder and I put the first folder that is in the .ZIP file (it was a normal folder named mcheli) and put it in the mods folder. And it works in normal minecraft launcher with forge and with the technic launcher but not with FTB. Maybe FTB only reads .ZIP folders as mods

That is VERY strange... I'd send a bug report to the FTB team about that, especially if it works on the vanilla launcher, and other launchers.

Confirming that this bug exists. There have been several other reports of this bug but no solutions have been found. I posted some of my findings at http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum...pport/2267735-forge-mod-loder-duplicate-error (near the bottom). Most notably, the problem is the FTB launcher itself because this mod loads up perfectly fine in the vanilla client and the MultiMC client. It's definitely not a conflict or anything since I isolated the MCHeli mod in the FTB launcher and the exact same bug occurs
