The 'AWT-EventQueue-0' error is often caused by having multiple or outdated version of Java. Ensure that you only have one version of Java and the latest which at the moment is 7 update 45. Follow this guide to do that. If after that you are still having problems please post a new console log.
 
It worked! The problem was, that I had several Java versions installed at the same time. After uninstalling them it started working again.
