AE, buildcraft pipes, enderio, extra utilities, factorization, railcraft, steve's carts... all have the ability to do what you're asking.
The easiest early game one I would use is extra utility pipes. A minimal amount of smooth stone, redstone, glass, dye and you can have yourself a small but fairly effective sorting system.
Factorization would be the hardest and least efficient for me... Others may disagree with that. I'm not super familiar with the mod since in order to do anything you have to find a programing matrix thingie.
Railcraft or steve's carts would be fun and entertaining to do...
Buildcraft requires a bit of diamonds
Enderio requires some ender pearls
AE is more mid to later game...
The choices are there though.
