Wasn't entire sure where to post help requests on these forums, its not a technical issue, its more a brain power issue.

I've been playing with Mystcraft now for a few days and i've got to grips with the basics at least and can now write ages that more or less do what i want them to, however, whenever i've tried to fine tune an age, (I keep backup copies of my ages so i can alter things as needed) when i change the smallest detail, a single page in 20-25page books, at the most un-related-to-anything-else level, my book just goes sideways and completly off the rails.

So what i really want to know is : Is there a hidden factor by which a written book will ignore symbols put into the book?

I'll offer my most recent experience as an example, i wrote a 20 page skylands age, loaded it, it looked amazing apart from the fog color (i'd chosen Blue sky, Cyan Fog) it just didn't match, so i left the age, went back to my -IDENTICAL- backup and changed the modifying color for fog from cyan, to white. used this second copy to make a new age, and all of a sudden i have extra moons, my sky color has changed from Blue to Magenta, my Zero Length Zenith Normal Sun which has been a feature in this book for the last 3-4 revisions suddenly stops being zero length. And nothing else in the book has changed.

I really am at a loss as to why things that are, or should be defined by symbols decide to become changed :S.

any help appreciated and appologies if i've missed the appropriate location to post!

I can't explain it but I have found the exact same thing. I made a mining age, I keep a separate notebook for each age and copy it to a book each time. I changed just from flat to cave world, and changed a biome and suddenly everything I asked for in the book is wrong. It is like I had an empty descriptive book!

These tiny changes should not make such massive changes.

I believe this is known and should be fixed in the future. You'll also get random extra inclusions no matter how verbose you are in writing the descriptive book (same "problem" really)

This most likely wont help this particular issue, but have you tried using clear modifiers at the end of the book?

Thanks for the replies folks, i have tried clear modifiers at the end and in some cases ive added it to a few ''chapters'' where i've used a few symbols, (For example my celestial bodies had one at the end because i'd added two different cycling moons and the above mentioned zenith zero sun. Solar power age ftw!)

As for the random inclusions i understand that, but in the case of the zenith zero sun i had set a paramater than i know was correct and working because it worked in a previous attempt, nothing about changing the fog color would have moved those pages order or anything. So if another sun was added, i wouldn't have minded, but this was a book ignoring the symbols i'd given it :S
