I made a new Descriptive Book, about my 30th I think. Made a Linking Book to get back, clicked the Descriptive Book, and after a couple of minutes standing around in the void waiting for the world, the internal server shut down and kicked me out. Now I can't log in to the world. I just get the dirt background screen. Any suggestions? Can I use an NBT editor to get myself back to the Overworld?

Got that error too but found no answear. This is why you have backups ;). Best thing to do would PROBABLY (I am not sure) be just going to an old backup. NBT edit may work as well.

I haven't backed up my world for quite a while. Time to start over anyway I think as I'd made a bit of a mess of my base layout. I tried using NBTExplorer to set my dimension to 0 and to delete the last few Mystcraft worlds but that didn't work. Still crashes on loading. And when I open the player file, it's back to Dimension 30 again so Mystcraft is still trying to move me into the corrupt dimension. I tried deleting the 'data' entries for that dimension as well but that doesn't help. Mystcraft must record that information somewhere in the game save, if only I could find it!

Well, I'm mostly back working again, I coped the player .dat file from an old game save so I just lost a couple of items like my Gravity Gun (again).

Had the same issue a few days ago and fixed it thanks to this post (basically deleting the error age file and replacing it with a copy of any other working age)

Check if this is the error you are getting and maybe you can fix it this way.

Hm, I didn't think of replacing the age with another one! That sounds fun, it would be interesting to have a few completely identical ages, I could have one for each of my friends.

I'll try that the next time it happens. But I'm going to be setting up a backup batch script very soon.

You can also use a NBT editor to move your player back to the overworld and then delete the affected age. I've had to do this twice when I generated bad ages (it's the Skylands symbol and RP2 marble not playing well together).
