mystcraft round chunk sized portal not working.

Hey,

I made a round portal in the bottom of a round chunk sized hole, the hole's inner diameter is 14, and the portal's frame is 16 blocks across. I have a pool of lava just beneath the portal. the portal won't activate, does this have anything to do with the lava or is the size too big?

you can see on the minimap that the circle is contained within the chunk.

never mind, I had placed the book receptacle outside the chunk border, moved it in a bit and the portal now works

I can't tell from the picture, but it may be because mystcraft doesn't believe it's a complete shape. That is, the crystal block faces have to be touching. I'm pretty sure that diagonal connections don't count. Try adding crystal hidden behind the cobble to connect the sections. I don't think the lava should be a problem, though I've never seen a portal directly on top of it. If the first idea doesn't work / apply, try moving the crystal frame up one as I know I've seen working portals with a 1-block air gap to lava.
