I know the more ages you have the laggier it can get.

Is there any way to delete an age permanently once you're done with it?

Delete the book in game and delete the age from the save folder. Single player easy. Server same i believe. Unless you don't have access to it.

no it's my server I has access Just sometimes you know you roll the dice and it comes up meaty er's LOL

Actually, unless your server hardrive is full to the brim with Mystcraft worlds you shouldn't see a performance dip. Unless of course those multitude of dimensions are loaded.

No only one has a quarry there's no other chunk load ed in any of the others

Dimensions that are not in use only cost harddisk space. Nothing else.

Still good to prune garbage dimensions, if only to keep your servers world folders neat.
