Mystcraft Portal Problem

Hi everyone,

If anyone could help me out here it would be much appreciated. I have been running a tiny server at home for my single player games & all has been running fine for a while now, last night I noticed the quarry in one of my mining ages had stopped working I tried to hop through the portal to that age (like I have done 100's time in the past) but I got a server error & didn't have the common sense to pastebin the client side error at that time. Now when I try log in I get a server error every time & cant log in - well the screen flashes on with me kind of stuck in the portal & then shuts down?

It looks like your mining age is corrupted somehow.... DO you have a backup of it from before this started?

Thanks for the reply Booker. Nope I don't have a backup, there's a valuable lesson in this somewhere right

Is it possible for me to delete that one age? I logged the server from another account & it works, but server console is constantly spammed with those errors.

It is... but you need to know the age number.....

OR

Move the ages out one by one until you spawn back at your spawn point. Then keep that age out and add the others back in.
(The world will not be "1", "-1" or "7"

Do I delete the DIM_MYST* folder or just the agedata_*.dat files from the data folder?

And yes I knew backups would be a good idea, but for some reason I never got to it :/ A little OT but on some of the youtube video's I see some kind of auotmated server backup, would you know how I would go about doing that?

I played around a bit more today... Ended up removing all myscraft generated wolds (DIM_MYST* folders & the agedata_*.dat files in the data folder). I am no longer stuck but that error persists to the point where the server is unplayable. I think I may have to abandon this one, but if anyone has any last suggestions I would appreciate that, thanks

Thanks for the help, I have abandoned that one & setup a small D20 server for me & some friends instead... Which will be backed up =P

Good idea to back up your server, to bad learned the very hard way.
