So, I've looked around a bit but couldn't find the answer to this. I've double checked my config settings and the only copper/tin gen enabled is IC2 and indeed in my overworld I only get 1 type. However, when I go to my mystcraft dense ores mining age, all 3 copper/tin are there (I was really confused when I looked in my quarry chest).

I was just curious if this was intended or not. Does mystcraft look at all the mods installed and world gens everything with no regard to config settings? Is it a dense ore only thing?

Mystcraft cannot read config files, so all mods ores are generated in mystcraft ages.
That's what I read somewhere else a while back.

Think it might be just a dense ores bug, I'm living in a Mystcraft age which is respecting the configs for ore generation just fine.

I doubt this, perhaps you just haven't come across different ores yet? As far as I understand, mystcraft generates everything in the forge list-of-ores-thingy (has a name, but I cant remember it) rather than respecting configs...

Though I'm just repeating what I've heard

It is just dense ores. I created a mystcraft world after the ftb beta pack update a while back. I had had ic ore gen on before the update. After the update the configs rest. I ran a quarry 6d4x64 in the world created after the update and only got forestry ores

I'm just going from the fact that I have forestry tin\copper set and I have got a full Gregtech setup, full TE and IC2 processing setups all from mining in this world and haven't seen IC2\TE copper or tin (they stick out a bit).

Edit: Just tested and it is definitely dense ores I created a dense ores age and went on a bit of a mining spree, not only are ores I have disabled for certain spawning (though IC2 still didn't) dense ores also doesn't respect biome linked ores either and spawned those as well.

Without dense ores Mystcraft uses the normal ore generation that gets used everywhere else. Terrain features do not affect ore generation in other ways than changing the way how stone gets generated which then gets replaced by ores. Seems kind of an overlook if dense ores decides to generate everything it can find.

Ah, then I apologize. I dislike mining to be honest, so if I ever use mystcraft purely for mining, I just stick dense ores on and put up with the effects, so I just assumed that it was typical of mystcraft that it generates all ores.
