After a lot of experimenting with Mystcraft, I've found that with it installed , I don't really have to mine for anything except silver and gold, which are the only liquids that i can't find a page for. I've created ages with ludicrite oceans , tartarite lakes, or streams of enderium (which makes a GREAT tic sword-- + 20 attack damage with no Quartz). Then I throw the liquids into a drum courtesy of my ender-thermic pump, and then plug the liquid into my smeltery. Now, my question: should this liquid interaction be disabled on a server? Or does it open up potential for a new form of gameplay? And does the countless number of emeralds spend on pages balance out the OP liquids?

Well, balance is subjective. I'd disable Mystcraft on a server anyways simply to prevent everyone making ages, which would tax the performance greatly.
I say just play the game you want to play. If you want to use Mystcraft quickly to get to the end-game, more power to you. If you want to work through and roleplay that you're building machines like one would IRL, more power to you.
If the server is private, you could enable it, but perhaps certain pages could be disabled. Basically, look at what you want, and whether you trust the people on your server, to make your desicion.
